Brazilians, Chinese, Mexicans, Japanese, Moroccans, Spaniards… almost all the international students who will be joining the École Centrale de Lille or the ENSCL in September 2021 attended the first edition of the webinar to prepare for arrival at Centrale Lille.
This virtual meeting took place on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 2pm Paris time, 7am in Mexico City and at 9pm for Beijing.
These students will join us as part of the exchange and double degree agreements with our international partner universities. The list of home universities includes but is not limited to:
- Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.
- The Southwest Jiaotong University in China.
- Doshisha University in Japan.
- The Ecole Centrale de Casablanca.
- The Ecole Centrale de Pékin.
- The University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and its Polytechnic School.
- The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
- ETSIAE in Spain.
- The ETSII of the Polytechnic University of Madrid
For over an hour, the International and Academic Relations team led a videoconference focused on getting to know the establishment and its specificities and on the steps and advice to settle in and study at Centrale Lille in the best conditions. Future international students were thus able to discover the programme of the New International Student Meet-and-Greet Week organised by the RIA pole with the support of the student associations Club Time (École Centrale de Lille) and Welcome Club (ENSCL).
The webinar ended with a long exchange with the students aimed at answering their many practical questions prior to their departure for France: visa, residence permit, health insurance, accommodation, catering, arrival dates… all aspects of their future life as students at Centrale Lille have been reviewed and their questions answered.
After finally being able to put a face to each name thanks to this webinar, the next step for the RIA pole will be to welcome these new students on August 28 and 29 when they arrive in Lille.
