Through this financial support, the Franco-German University (Université Franco-Allemande – UFA) seeks to provide assistance to doctoral students preparing their thesis at two higher education institutions, one French and the other German, under the responsibility of two thesis supervisors (one in each of the two countries).
The bi-national doctorate must comply with the following criteria:
- scientific merit of the research project;
- doctoral students supervised by a French university professor and a German university professor within a research directorate;
- quality of the supervision concept (specific and individualised supervision, common to both institutions and intended to broaden the specialisation and structure the integration of doctoral students in the French and German research landscapes).
Funding for joint thesis supervision is open to all disciplines.
