Recommendations applicable to students and staff present in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus

  • French nationals present in Ukraine must contact the diplomatic post, who has set up a crisis unit whose absolute priority today is to support the French community and the evacuation of French nationals to France.
  • French nationals present in Russia are advised to leave Russian territory.
  • French nationals present in Belarus are advised to leave the country.

Ongoing collaborations with Russia

  • Russian students, researchers and teaching researchers working in our laboratories can continue their activities.
  • All new bilateral cooperation agreements must be suspended, unless an exception is duly justified and validated. Regular meetings are being held at the inter-ministerial level and through the national security and defence council to identify and assess these exceptions.

This stance also applies to future scientific events involving Russia, particularly within the scope of the French Presidency of the European Union.

Support and assistance for students in France

The CROUS (Centres Régionaux des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires – regional centres of student social services) pay particular attention to Ukrainian students in university cities. CROUS centres are invited to mobilise advisers and social services in order to strengthen the social support offered to these students.
