Currently in his second year at the École Centrale de Lille, Paul de Calonne has chosen to carry out his personal challenge on the theme of sport. He wants to break the world record for core stabilisation.
To enter the famous Guinness Book of Records, he will have to hold the plank position for more than 22 minutes and 2 seconds while being weighed down with 18kg: a high-level sporting exercise. A seasoned athlete, Paul has already completed several Ironman races- extreme triathlon, during which he swam 3.8 km, cycled 180 km, and ran 42.195 km. Paul also has other projects in mind, such as participating in the 2024 Olympic marathon in Paris!
On Friday 17 December, he will carry out his challenge in the sports hall of the Léonard de Vinci Residence (Villeneuve d’Ascq campus), in the presence of representatives of the Guinness Book, his fellow students, and anyone who would like to give him their support.
