Clément Rousset, a naval engineering specialist concerned about the environment, and a 2015 graduate of the École Centrale de Lille, co-founded NepTech in 2020, which develops intelligent and efficient modes of maritime transport. His project won the “Mobilities Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024” call for innovation in the New Mobilities & Active Mobilities category. The boats will have to be operational by the end of 2023 to be able to navigate on the Marseille docks and the Seine.

“NepTech’s technologies significantly improve the operational performance of zero-emission boats, enabling them to go faster and further,” said Clément.

Since its launch, NepTech has set up a maritime innovation lab to optimise the use of hydrogen, reduce energy consumption and develop a breakthrough technology. Currently in the fundraising phase, the start-up hopes to recruit engineers soon to complete the team and further develop R&D.

Recently, the launch of the first technological demonstrator has marked the start of the technological development test campaign. For him, entrepreneurship with an ecological and social impact is “a fabulous adventure that allows us to defend ideas, convey messages and give meaning to our lives”.
