Funded by the European Union under the Erasmus Mundus label, the STRAINS Master’s programme (Advanced Solid Mechanics) is a two-year master program (issuing 120 ECTS credits), entirely taught in English and provided jointly by 6 partner institutions: Centrale Lille, the Université de Lille, the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland), the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and the University of Calabria (Italy).
This year, 16 students of 13 different nationalities joined this master’s programme. After a first semester in Lille to consolidate their grounding, they have the choice of continuing their second semester in Belgium, Poland or Italy in order to specialise in mechanical engineering or civil engineering.
The Master’s programme offers high-level reception and support services for foreign students, such as a Summer School to promote group integration and intercultural exchanges, or the Winter School for early exposure to the world of research and consolidating links with industrial partners, particularly through contact with guest speakers.
