The Centrale Lille team, comprising 36 student and staff cyclists, covered 8,132 km during the national Mai à Vélo 2022 challenge. Each year, this challenge pits together different teams (schools, universities, companies, associations, etc.) that must rack up the most kilometres by bike for daily trips, whether by going to work, school or shopping.
Last year, the team completed 4,252 km. Having almost doubled its number of kilometres, this year Centrale Lille reached 17th place out of the 140 schools registered.
For this event, the Département du Nord came in second place for the regional authorities category with 1,239,769 km travelled, while the European Lille Metropolis achieved first place for the challenge’s metropolises with 573,852 km travelled!
Well done to everyone who got involved in May!
