“Le Bocal” is the first short film by Arthur Duval, a 2nd-year student at École Centrale de Lille, which was released on 3 January 2022.
This film tells the story of a young woman who goes on an initiatory journey, taking with her a most mysterious jar. The main actors are Inès Malleval (2nd-year student) and Melvil Moynacq (2021 graduate) but several students and future graduates are also part of the film team: Clara Beal, Jean Baptiste Caplan, Antoine Escourrou, Cyril Feneon, Damien Lahay, Titouan Meyssonier and Evan Rolland.
“The project kicked off with several writing sessions and then the shooting took place over a weekend in June 2021. The editing, which ended in December, took a long time as we wanted to achieve optimal image quality and create an original soundtrack. The Bocal is by far the most ambitious project I have been given so far, since the team is made up of around twenty people in total and the shooting took place over three days,” says Arthur.
