The International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA) aims to Connect, Lead and Inspire women to pursue a career in the aerospace industry. Through conferences, discussions, mentoring and scholarships, the association seeks to encourage young people by sharing inspirational women’s careers and advice, and by organising exchanges around this industry.
Each year, the association offers a scholarship to five students worldwide, from one of the IAWA association’s partner universities working in aeronautics. A first grant was awarded in 2021 to Léane Mahé (see article of the Point Com of 25 May 2021).
2023 winner Elena Galigny de Bonneval, a student at École Centrale de Lille, currently on a hiatus at the University of Cranfield in the UK, was awarded for her strong leadership, creativity, technical knowledge and desire to advance her career in the aerospace or aviation sector; she chose to take the “Aerospace Manufacturing” Master of Science, and this grant is definitely an accomplishment for her.
