On 7 June, first-year students at the École Centrale de Lille were able to meet Isabelle Autissier, their class patron, on the occasion of the patronage ceremony.

Isabelle Autissier is an agricultural engineer specialising in fisheries and a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Rennes. With her remarkable career, she shared her experience and adventures as a sailor with students. She was the first woman to complete a solo sailing tour of the world in 1991, and has been recognised repeatedly for her sporting achievements. She also shared her aspirations as a writer, with a dozen novels to her name, including many awards, and her various engagements with major associations serving the planet. She is also Honorary President of WWF-France.

Championing values such as surpassing oneself, she seeks to help our future engineers respond to the challenges that their generation will have to face: climate, biodiversity, pollution, etc.
