Julien Niquet, a 2007 graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Lille and an engineer and specialist in finance, co-founded EPSOR in 2017. It is a fintech start-up that simplifies access to wage savings and retirement savings. The platform thus offers an innovation of service to its customers – about 40,000 savers and institutions in France, and today manages 400 million euros of outstanding assets.
After two previous fundraisers, the start-up has just completed the biggest fundraising by a fintech in the savings sector in France: 20 million euros. EPSOR is therefore taking a new step in its development and taking advantage of a favourable ecosystem to make its projects a reality. It wants to continue to grow in the market by now targeting large accounts, doubling the number of employees – EPSOR currently has 60 employees, 50% of whom work on technology and web services, but also by accentuating its responsible approach.
After conducting audit missions in France and abroad, Julien embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure to propose an innovative solution geared towards the collective by combining his skills and knowledge acquired during his studies. It was his internships that allowed him to take an interest in finance, an area of activity little known at the time. Julien explains that, for him, “engineering studies at the Ecole Centrale de Lille offer a multitude of possibilities and opportunities. Internships are an opportunity to discover, to train, to have field experiences and these experiences help us to get started.”
