Two calls for applications are open to finance industrial chairs: MEL -IDEX UL and ANR.

The purpose of an industrial chair is to:

  • Build collaborative projects in scientific research involving public and private research players;
  • Establish an ambitious, innovative research programme with application and industrial purposes;
  • Build on a strong and lasting partnership with previous collaborations;
  • Set up training through research with doctoral and post-doctoral students.

These two calls for applications are aimed at academic research laboratories and established companies that develop an effective R&D activity in France. For the MEL- IDEX UL call for applications, at least one of the companies involved in the chair must be in the Greater Lille area.

The programmes are open to all research themes, on subjects jointly defined by the parties concerned. Chairs must be coordinated by a researcher or teaching researcher, and include one or more partners (laboratories/companies).

Financing:

  • MEL-IDEX UL fund: the resources and subsidy granted amount to €400k (33% of the total cost) over 36 months.
  • ANR fund: up to the level of corporate financing (cash contribution paid to the host institution). On average, budgets amount to between €1 million and €2.4 million over a maximum of 48 months.
