The Eclosion student association is organising a projection-debate on the documentary entitled “Un Nouvel Extractivisme Vert” (a new green extractivism) on Tuesday 6 June 2023 from 5:45 pm to 8 pm in the Cuccaroni Amphitheatre. Energy and climate engineer Adrien Toledano will be present to lead a debate after the exclusive screening of his documentary.

Wind turbines, electric vehicles, solar panels… what impact does the energy transition have on mining? What are the social and environmental consequences? Is the reopening of mines in France one of the solutions? After a year of observing the workings of the mining industry and its impacts in Malaysia, Brazil and Australia, two young students, Adrien and Nicolas, seek to answer these questions based on some fifty interviews.

It is by confronting different visions, academic experts, businesses and citizens impacted by these operations, that the documentary seeks to shed light on the controversy surrounding the mining impact of the energy transition.

Watch the teaser and register free of charge via this link, it is open to all Centrale Lille staff and students.

A snack is offered from 5:30 pm onwards to open up the discussions!
