The EDHEC Business School’s Diversity and Inclusion Chair has opened the 2023 season of its conference-debates. The first conference will take place on Wednesday 29 March, from 6 – 8 pm on the EDHEC campus (24 avenue Gustave Delory in Roubaix), and will address the topic of consent.
At a time when feminist discourse on sexual violence and the dissemination of a gender equality ideal is becoming increasingly democratised, consent is an important part of the debate on sexuality. Based on a sociological survey on casual sex, this conference, led by Daria Sobocinska, a sociologist of sexuality at the University of Lille, questions the various and complex forms that (non-) consent can take, and the place that is left for it in sexual encounter situations.
