“France must simultaneously face two challenges: on the one hand producing more electricity to replace oil and fossil gas and, on the other, renewing the means of nuclear production that will gradually reach their operating limit by 2060. The question then is: which technologies will we use to produce this completely decarbonised electricity? Renewable energies and/or new nuclear energy, and in what proportions?” Xavier Piechaczyk, Chairman of the Management Board of RTE.
In October 2021, RTE published the main findings of its prospective study entitled “Energy Futures 2050“. François Boulet, Director of Operations at RTE Hauts-de-France, will present the main energy mix options at a conference on Monday 7 March at 6 pm in the Cuccaroni Amphitheatre. He will then answer any the questions that arise on this subject, which is essential for the future of our society.
