On April 11, Centrale Lille hosted the closing day of the Scientific Inclusive Excellence Programme (PEI) at ENSCL. This event marked the end of a year’s work for the participating high school students.

Supervised by teachers and students from Centrale Lille, each group of students worked throughout the year on a topic of their choice related to nanotechnology. This field, at the crossroads of several scientific disciplines, enabled them to understand how properties on a very small scale can influence the behaviour of materials on a larger scale.

After deliberation by the jury, the Sainte-Marie de Beaucamps-ligny high school won 1st prize for its project entitled “Invisibility using metamaterials” and 2nd prize for its project entitled “MRI on a nanometric scale”.

Thank you to the teachers and students at Centrale Lille for their commitment and expertise, which greatly enriched the participants’ educational experience. These projects not only help to deepen young people’s knowledge, but also aim to open up the world of research and high technology to a wider and more diverse public.
