On Friday September 27, the 32 students in the Engineering and Health program at École Centrale Lille, in partnership with UFR3S, gathered for a welcome on the Centrale Lille Institut campus. The program, which is in full expansion, is enthusiastically entering its second year.

Two weeks earlier, the students had already begun their studies at UFR3S, with a first course in deontology and ethics, given in the anatomy laboratory by Professor Demondion. For them, it was a real introduction to the healthcare sector, after a career mainly focused on engineering.

This innovative course meets a growing demand from students to broaden their skills in the healthcare field, particularly since the health crisis. It is supported by the CAPSUL project, winner of France 2030’s “Skills and professions of the future” call for expressions of interest. The program combines one third of a common curriculum dedicated to medical sciences, followed by two specializations:

  • Design-Care-Product: focusing on medical device engineering
  • Organization-Care-Patient: focused on digital medicine
