In order to file applications for promotion, the Galaxy ELECTRA module will be open to teaching researchers from Thursday, 18 January 2024 (10 am, Paris time) to Friday 16 February 2024 (4 pm, Paris time). Reminder: the conditions for applying for a grade promotion under common law are set out below.

  • To access the high category (“hors classe”) of senior lecturers: you must have reached the 7th level of the normal category and completed at least five years as a Senior Lecturer or Assistant Professor in active employment or in a secondment position.
  • To access the exceptional new level of the high category of senior lecturers: you must provide proof of at least three years of actual service in the 6th level of the high category. The commitment of senior lecturers to their teaching role shall be given particular consideration.
  • To access the category 1 of university professors: you must be a category 2 university professor.
  • To access the exceptional category of university professors: you must have been a category 1 university professor for at least 18 months.
  • To access the 2nd level of the exceptional category of university professors: you must have been a university professor at the 1st level of the exceptional category for at least 18 months.

These conditions must be met by 31 December 2024 for the 2024 session.

Furthermore, teaching researchers cannot be promoted if they are kept in office as surplus staff.
