As part of the “Cordées de la réussite” scheme, a “Women and Girls in Science” workshop was organised on the afternoon of Thursday 6 April at Centrale Lille. The aim was to raise awareness among young girls about science and higher education.

Two activities were carried out during the afternoon:

  • An activity around female inventors with the Eurekatrices card game. This game serves to realise that many everyday objects have been invented by women.
  • A poster session with a portrait of female inventors and participant volunteers: students, PhD students, engineers, teachers, teaching researchers.

The half-day brought together around fifty young girls from the schools in the Hauts-de-France region: the Paul Verlaine college (Lille-Sud), the Nina Simone college (Wazemmes), the Myriam Makeba college (Lille) and the Robert Desnos college (Douai).
