Women represent 52% of the total European population, but only one third of self-employed workers and business creators in the EU.

Starting a business or deciding to become self-employed seems to be more of a male prerogative. In fact, the low proportion of women entrepreneurs is due to the large number of barriers women face in business creation and management, such as socio-cultural barriers (e.g. bias and stereotypes), difficulties related to reconciling work and family life and access to credit, lack of access to lifelong education and training, and to training opportunities for the development of key entrepreneurship skills and commercial abilities.

U.POWER is an Erasmus+ project that will focus on the competence of social entrepreneurship. This key skill is a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes such as critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, communication, creativity, proactivity, sense of initiative and the ability to make informed decisions in order to manage projects and businesses.

At this stage, this project is focused on identifying the obstacles that women face in this respect. For this purpose, you can complete the questionnaire to help them define the actions to be implemented.
