At IG2I, fifth year students carry out an end-of-studies project (PFE) that they defend in February. These projects are all in contact with a client (company or laboratory) and are billed from €5k to €25k depending on the size of the group and the corresponding work. The project lasts 5 months (230 hours per student) with a team of 4 to 8 students.
The new PFE session will begin soon. Teaching researchers who wish to submit a project can contact Michel Hecquet or Thierry Fricheteau.
To give some examples, the end-of-study projects defended in February 2023 concerned issues in terms of data management and processing, AI additions for image recognition or model definition (machine learning and/or deep learning) with Kyndryl, AXA and NavalGroup, cybersecurity with Alstom, blockchain (EBSI) with EDF, embedded electronics with CNES, virtual reality and the associated HMI/web interfaces.
The PFEs were assessed on the following aspects: innovation study, scientific bibliography and analysis of the existing situation, formalisation of functional specifications, technical design, feasibility study and production of a prototype or POC, project management and quality approach.
