Are you familiar with the “E-Lab” educational platform installed in building C?

This is a platform built around the issues of electrical energy (production, transport, conversion, consumption), in connection with the current challenges: Renewable Energies (REs), electric mobility, smart grid, energy efficiency of electrical systems, etc. This platform is intended as a place for training, exchange and raising awareness about efficient use of electricity.

E-Lab is composed of:

  • one practical work room for low power applications (C-016)
  • one practical work room for higher power applications (C-018)
  • two 3kWc photovoltaic installations, on the roof of building C

These installations use different photovoltaic module technologies and are equipped with instruments (production, irradiance, temperature) to create databases for the case studies of the various teaching modules.

Many of Centrale Lille’s training modules already rely on E-Lab resources: #StartingBlock, Disciplinary courses (EER, EHD, MEL, SGR), Transversal courses (TER, etc.), as well as the lessons of the third-year Energy and Smart Grids course, within the Sustainable Construction and Energy theme, and some lessons from ITEEM in the fifth-year Sustainable Development course. Other activities (internships, projects) have also been attached to it for a few years now.

Outreach and awareness-raising initiatives for Centrale Lille staff and students will be carried out on the E-Lab platform in the coming months. Further details will be provided in future Point Com editions.
