The Cultures d’ingénieurs et formations (Engineering cultures and training) seminar aims to provide a space for reflection, foster scientific exchange and promote ongoing research on engineers, their practices, their training, and ethical, political and social issues.

Open to all, this scientific seminar is run by three laboratories involved in this field: the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche en Education de Lille (University of Lille), Connaissance Organisation et Systèmes TECHniques (University of Technology of Compiègne) and Formation et Apprentissages Professionnels (CNAM Paris, AgroSup Dijon, ENSTA Brittany). The seminar offers four meetings per year on different themes intended for all interested researchers.

The next one will be held on Thursday 20 October from 8:30am – 12:30pm online (login link here).

Charles Gadéa and Roland Lardinois will talk about their collective research work in sociology and history covering more than two centuries of Indian engineering (Les Mondes de l’ingénieur en Inde XIXe – XXIe siècle [Engineering worlds in India, 19th – 21st centuries]) published this month by Classiques Garnier), and Nathan Coutable will present a communication from a master’s thesis in sociology of organisations on the establishment of teaching related to sustainable development in a French engineering school.
