As part of their thesis programme, young researchers must attend doctoral training to broaden their disciplinary outlook and facilitate their future professional integration. Doctoral training is organised by the Collège Doctoral and the Écoles Doctorales (ED).
Complementary to research work, these training courses are modular and divided into three categories:
- Area 1: Disciplinary modules;
- Area 2: Cross-disciplinary modules;
- Area 3: Professionalisation or professional integration modules.
Each course provides doctoral training credits (crédits de formations doctorale – CFDs) issued by the ED. Over the duration of the doctoral programme, PhD students must obtain 60 credits for a standard thesis, 40 credits for a CIFRE thesis and 30 credits from each partner for a co-supervision. The exact number of credits is indicated in the individual training agreement. In the context of a co-supervision (“co-tutelle”), the number and distribution of credits will be indicated in the co-supervision agreement.
All information related to doctoral training can be found in the doctoral student’s ADUM space: this space also contains the training catalogue and procedures for validating courses not included in the catalogue.
Each ED indicates its own procedures on its website, so by all means consult the dedicated pages: ED MADIS – ENGSYS – SMRE.
