On Thursday 10 March 2022 after a 4-year probationary period, the University of Lille had its “I-SITE” label confirmed. This label could not have been obtained without the creation, last January, of the “Université de Lille” Public Experimental Institution (EPE). Although Centrale Lille does not wish to join the EPE, it contributes to joint projects. This collaboration was launched in 2021 under the impetus of Régis Bordet, then Managing Director of the I-SITE foundation, and who has since become President of the University of Lille. It receives funding from I-SITE and covers three areas: engineering and health (managed by Centrale Lille), engineering and energy (managed by Polytech’Lille), engineering and textiles (managed by Ensait).
Concerning the first area, the objective is to have doctors, medical researchers and scientific researchers work together, for the engineer’s benefit, in an interdisciplinary manner. The first meeting will take place on 24 March at the first workshop on health engineering, organised by the University of Lille, Centrale Lille and CHU.
