Review of doctoral contracts
The report annexed to the LPR (Loi de Programmation pour la Recherche – French Research programming law) of 14 December 2021 sets the objective of gradually increasing the pay of new doctoral contracts by 30% between 2021 and 2023.
Since 2016, the minimum pay for contractual doctoral students has been set at €1,758 gross per month. For contracts signed as of 1 September 2021, this pay increases to €1,866 gross per month (+6.1%). It will increase to €1,975 gross per month for contracts signed as of 1 September 2022.
Oath of scientific integrity
At the end of their thesis defence, pursuant to Article L612-7 of the French Education Code, applicants must take an oath, undertaking to comply with the principles and requirements of scientific integrity, under the conditions set by order of the French Minister for Research.
