A virtual office is an application that generates a work environment allowing remote access to business applications and service sharing without using a VPN connection.
As part of teleworking, from January onwards, the IT resources department will offer virtual offices to administrative and technical staff. These virtual desktops will optimise the execution of business applications, which will respond more quickly.
The virtual offices will be particularly suitable for staff who use programmes such as Aurion, Hyperplanning, Immos, Cocktail suite, etc. The use of virtual desktops is therefore to be preferred in the context of teleworking rather than the VPN connection solution which is not compatible with the simultaneous use of the virtual desktop.
The virtual desktop can be accessed either via a browser such as Firefox or via a program installed directly on the workstation by the IT resources department. The latter solution will offer more functionality to users. If the implementation of this service is successful for administrative staff, it could be extended to other uses.
Initially, administrative and technical staff wishing to benefit from this solution are invited to make a request via the GLPI application.
