The European Commission has just launched a major public consultation on education “for a greener and more sustainable Europe”. As a result, an EU recommendation will set out the main challenges for integrating sustainability into education, including a series of actions for education and training providers, from primary to higher education, and for policy makers. It will also detail how the Commission intends to support this work through EU actions and funding over the coming years.

The aim of the consultation is to gather contributions and ideas for a proposal for a Council Recommendation on education for environmental sustainability, to be adopted by the Commission at the end of 2021.
