Originating from a collective initiative and led by Murielle Rivenet (Centrale Lille) and Martine Benoit (University of Lille), the “Transitions” booklet is a collection of exchanges between researchers and students from different disciplines who have agreed to discuss current topics related to climate change, while questioning our practices within higher education (teaching, research and life on campus).
“Transitions” reports on these interdisciplinary encounters around climate change and future transitions, through texts and illustrations, which highlight the emulation and openness promoting a better understanding of the environmental issues of the 21st century in their diversity (social, scientific, historical, economic, regulatory). This group brainstorming led participants to increase awareness of the issues in the interests of objectivity. It also underlined a significant expectation from students in terms of support on the topic of transition.
Murielle Rivenet and Martine Benoit are already considering the next stage: “The initial project was built around three axes: campus, university, research. We will follow up on it by enhancing the teaching and research components: by reflecting on greater awareness of climate change issues in our training; by launching a new research project around “Energy and Paradoxes”. These two proposals will be on the agenda of our next Steering Committee. »
The “Transitions” booklet is available here in digital version (french) or from the communication office in paper version.
