The Metropolitan Cycling Challenge, organised by the European Metropolis of Lille, will take place from May 1 to 31, 2021. The objective is for different teams (schools, universities, companies, associations, etc.) to enter a competition to record the most kilometers made by bicycle on daily trips, whether commuting to work, school, or shopping.
During the 2021 edition, 18 participants joined the “Centrale Lille à vélo” team to represent our school. Throughout May, the team covered a total of 4252 km to reach 54th place out of 402 teams and 12th place out of 62 in the “Schools” category.
In the ranking of the average number of kilometres travelled per team member, Centrale Lille ranks 5th in the “Schools” category with an average of 236 km per person. Congratulations especially to Xavier Boidin, Jonathan Ducoulombier and François Lesaffre who total more than 2100 km between them!
All team participants received prizes donated by the MEL.
