Faced with the difficulties of management and organisation of equipment encountered by some professionals (manufacturers, companies, agencies, etc.), and also with theft, duplicates, omissions and time wasted seeking equipment, Charlie Solutions offers a smart management solution and monitoring of mobile equipment thanks to IoT traceability technologies. It also brings real added value by automatically, easily and quickly managing the equipment fleet.
Co-founded by Basile Melchior, Ro
main Mariani, ITEEM graduates in 2020, and Romain’s brother, Matthieu Mariani, an equipment manager in a construction company, Charlie Solutions responds to a problem that is based on real needs
on the part of professionals and also met by Matthew in his daily life. This automated, autonomous and easy solution (transparent for the user) allows various uses: overall visualisation of the equipment fleet, monitoring maintenance, quickly finding equipment, setting configurable alerts, etc.
Thanks to their course at ITEEM, the two graduates were able to train directly in entrepreneurship thanks to their specialisation within the “Entrepreneur” profile and their different “Industry 4.0” paths for Romain and “Innovation and digital transformation” for Basil. They completed their end-of-studies internship on the creation of their company, with special support from the French Tech Tremplin.
French Tech Tremplin laureate
Charlie Solutions was one of the 145 winners selected to join the Prépa French Tech Tremplin in 2020. In Hauts-de-France, only 16 winning start-ups entered the pre-incubation phase from January to July 2020. This support and funding have enabled Basile, Romain and Matthieu to set up a first prototype on the site and to officially create the Charlie Solutions company in September 2020. Since the creation, 3 work-study students have joined the adventure as developers.
More than 800 start-ups applied to participate in the incubation phase, which began in January 2021, but only 201 were selected, including Charlie Solutions, in order to benefit from solid support within the Village By CA in the Euratechnologies district.
Launch of their first product
The three employees are working on this plug & play solution by combining their respective skills to digitize a fleet of equipment.
Romain is working on the hardware section, by creating mini sensors, which are autonomous for tracking and geolocation as well as a beacon, which detects them in order to report information: location, inventories, movements… Basile is involved in the software aspect thanks to their collaborative management platform and their mobile application. These different supports allow the site manager to recover all equipment operations in order to anticipate needs and have better visibility of their equipment. Customer expertise and user feedback are managed by Matthieu in order to achieve a solution that directly responds to customer issues to best adapt to their needs.
April 2021 sees the market launch of their first solution. You will find all the information on their system adapted to any profession on their website or in their video presentation.
