The support work of ARACT (Regional Agency for the Improvement of Working Conditions) continues with the implementation of the on-board assessment process.

As a reminder, ARACT provided methodological support for the conduct of the merger project between Centrale Lille and ENSCL and plays the role of third-party discussion facilitator in order to reconcile quality of life at work and economic performance of the organisation.

What is on-board assessment?

The on-board assessment approach is part of a continuous improvement process for activities, processes or services.

This approach will be deployed on an experimental basis in two poles of the establishment, the financial pole and the AER (Teaching Assistant) pole, with the support of ARACT on these first two poles.

It collaborates with a steering committee and working groups.

This joint steering committee is made up of 4 representatives of the Management, 4 staff representatives and contact persons. Its role is to:

  • Take note of the recommendations of the working groups;
  • Identify among the recommendations those that can be deployed.

Each working group is made up of staff from the department and is led by a pair representing the staff / manager of a department (other than the manager of the department concerned). The role of the facilitation team is to allow a space for free discussion and to generate proposals. The objectives of the working group are:

  • Listing the different activities;
  • Analysing the obstacles to the qualitative performance of the work;
  • Developing recommendations to improve the working conditions.

With regard to the AER pole and the financial pole, the first meetings of the working groups will take place on April 20.

The facilitation pairs, as well as a few other cluster managers, will be trained by ARACT to allow the methodology to be passed on and then potentially extended to other business sectors. This training session will take place over three days in April and May.
